Day 5. When was the first time you got drunk?
Hahahahaha oh my, this takes me back a bit.
Firstly I’d like to say sorry mum for what you’re about to read (she reads all my blogs and might not like this one).
I can remember the first time I was drunk rather well.
It was November 2009 when I was in year 10.
My friendship group consisted of three girls and four guys, three of which I’m still in touch with. We were all very close, some closer than others but at the time we were all young and stupid so you can’t really blame us.
It was the day of our first GCSE science modal exams, god only knows what subjects they were but that doesn’t really matter. The exams weren’t long and they finished about half 10/11ish so we had the rest of the afternoon to do whatever we wanted.
Sneaky as we all are at that age, a few days before the exam we found out one of the guys had a free house that afternoon. The guys discovered alcohol before the us girls did but we all found it fascinating and was determined to see what would happen if we drank it.
The night before the exam we each raided our parents alcohol cupboards creating wacky vile cocktails in plastic bottles that we then smuggled into our school bags ready for the next day. Not knowing anything about how bad mixing drinks were, we put every drink we could find into the bottle.
Once the exams were over we all walked down fambridge road back to the guys house, put on some music and started drinking. We can’t have had much to drink at all but everyone thought it was hilarious and cool that we started drinking at 11 in the morning and spent the afternoon running around in a house like a load of nutters creating mess everywhere we went.
I think it’s safe to say we’ve all grown up a lot since then and have learnt an awful lot about the effects of alcohol. However that day will always stay with me as I can just remember laughing so much.
For everyone reading this that’s younger than 18 it doesn’t mean underage drinking is acceptable at all but if you do have a drink and you’re younger than the legal age, be safe about it, you don’t want to be in the same position as some of my friends were when they were younger and ended up in hospital because they drank more than their little body could handle.
Here are some lovely the photos I took on the day where we all look stupid and really young!
