The last month has completely flown by and I honestly can’t believe we’re already at the end of June. In my first happiness project post you may recall me saying I was going to write this post on the last Friday of every month. So that didn’t quite happen, which is terrible as this is only my second post, but last week was one of the busiest weeks of my life. Then just to top it off, we also had the referendum so after the results were announced I didn’t really feel like posting a blog about happiness.
However, that’s enough negativity for one post! It’s a new week and with the new week brings a new month so here’s what’s made me happy in June…
5 Non Material Things That Have Made Me Happy In June
Blogger Friends: Since starting my new job I’ve been lucky enough to work on some really exciting campaigns and events. In one of my first weeks I had breakfast at the Duck and Waffle with 8 bloggers. With a mix of people I had and hadn’t met before it was really great to catch up and get to know them more. Last week I also went to DryBy nail bar with two lovely bloggers Phoebe and Tania. Having been big fans of their blogs for a few months now it was really exciting to meet them and spend the afternoon being pampered. All these events really make me appreciate how important other bloggers are. You can learn so much from them and also make some lovely new friends too.
Boyfriend’s Blog: My boyfriend has always been into fitness. So when he finally decided he wanted to take on the challenge and create a fitness blog last month I was pretty excited. After spending many evenings sacrificing episodes of Californiacation to work on it, it finally went live a few weeks ago. I’m pleased to say the reception has been great! In an odd way, it’s nice he now understands how much effort goes into running a blog and social media. It’s also been nice to share my blogging and social media wisdom with him, he now thinks I’m some sort of whizz kid!

Euro 2016: In our household, we’re pretty big football fans so you can imagine our delight when the Euro’s started this month. Although I’m not a huge fan of the English team (because there are no West Ham players in it), it’s been the perfect excuse to go down the pub and spend time with friends. There’s always a great atmosphere when the football is on and it always brings people together- I was even allowed to watch a game at work! This year I’m rooting for England and France.
Voting: The EU Referendum has been a pretty touchy subject since the results were announced on Friday. Although the results didn’t go in a lot of peoples favor and the whole thing has caused thousands of unbearable Facebook rants, it’s been amazing to see so many people are actually paying attention to it and getting involved. Even my nine year old cousin was talking about it the other day! Personally I think it’s also shone a really good light on our younger generation, it’s proved we’re actually a lot more clued up than the old people think we are.
Fathers Day: When you have a big family with lots of different sides it can be hard to see everyone all the time so it’s always nice when days like Fathers Day come about. Because my dad was working on Fathers Day, I actually saw him the day before, but it was still good to see each other and have a catch up about what’s been going on. On the Sunday we went to mums where we had roast dinner with my Nan and Granddad. As an adult working and living away from home I don’t see my family as much as I should do so it’s always important to make the most of every occasion.
